March 2016 Great Grey Shrike Forest of Dean UK

This Shrike had been reported in the Forest of Dean for many weeks now.  As it was a sunny weather forecast and it may be disappearing for more northern climes soon, I thought I should get down there and take a look.  Was well worth the early rise.

1st Day of Spring one of my favourite birds the Sparrow Hawk

It was great to have some early morning sunshine.  Managed to watch a pair of Sparrow Hawks breaking of twigs and starting to repair their nest.

It's the time of year for mad March Hares.  This one seems quite calm however.  I love Hares they are such a great animal.
